That's a waste of approx 9-14 minutes.

I warm it up for about a minute in the cold, and then just drive lightly until the coolant temperature reaches it's normal operating temp. With modern engine design, modern fuel injection systems, and multi-weight oils you don't need to warm your car up as much as you would in the old days.

in the freezing winter it takes about 10 mins for the heater to kick in all the way ..

and another 4-5 mins for me to stop shivering
from the cold .......
so i can drive without shaking the steering wheel

I warm it up for about one minute while I hook up my iPhone and look for a song to play. I take it easy on the throttle while the oil warms up though.

I let it sit for 10-15 sec before I start to move, I keep it under 3k rpm until temp is up.

I get in, turn the car on, pick a song I want to listen to and then I'm usually good to go. In colder weather I give it a couple seconds into the song before I get rollin'

I sort of warm up the car. Usually I start it then decide what radio station or cd i am going to listen to. If it is very cold out, I might give it a couple of minutes.

once you turn your car on, walk around your car about 3 to 4 times and your car should be ready.
