HELP! A Sad G story....

Hello all,

I am a new memeber here, so I'd like to start off by saying hello!
A little about me:
I'm from PA. I own a 2004 SVT Mystichrome Cobra, 2004 G35 Coupe, and a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

On to the story...

For the past year, the G has been in posession of my X. Well, for a lack of a better wayt to put it, she pretty much near destroyed the car.

A co-worker of mine found it sitting on the side of a pretty major highway one morning about a week ago and called me. I got there, and it was indeed my car. 3 flat tires, 1 shredded. Big hole/tear in rear bumper, long dent in hood. Car would not start, check engine light was on, after market rims have a bit of damage to them. No inspection, no registration, no insurance.

I threw on the stockers I had, and brought the car home, mind you, it started running very hot, and had a pretty noticible tick from the engine. Jacked it up for an oil change....and well, after draining it, only about 1.5-2 quarts of oil came out, solid black! Not good. Also there was virtually no coolant left in the reservoir either.

New oil filter and 5 quarts of Mobil 1 Full Synthetic later and some coolant, the tick seems to be gone. The CEL is gone as well.

I already got in new tires, and mounted them on the wheels and took the stockers back off. The car needs brakes, a tune up, and badly needs a rear bumper and hood. Hopefully, nothing else is wrong with her or the motor, seeming as it must have been low on oil for quite some time.

Can anyone help me locate a rear bumper and a hood? Any help would be much appreicated.

A few pics of the damage, the dirt, and after cleaning her up just a little bit.

1st...the tire she shredded...

Once she is cleaned up better, I will get better shots of her.

Left side was before I started cleaning under the hood...

so your ex had your car, abandoned it on the side of the road u rescued it and fixed it? I would have called the cops on that crazy bitch and reported it stole and claimed insurance. now u have to have the headache of fixing it and worrying about what internal damage was done to your motor from that crap oil and whatever other abuses it was put through

Press charges against her for destroying property. And make her pay for all the damage. I bought my girlfriend a car and when I we broke up I took it back because I knew she was going to abuse it. Now it's my DD and my G says at home for the weekends

Well, it was a wife, not just a g/f. But we are divorced now. So the pressing charges thing isn't gonna work unfortunately.

Since no one is helping you out, are you looking for a painted or unpainted hood and bumper?

Look on ebay (you can find many used ones but you'll need to repaint them).

Also, check out the Marketplace -> Exterior

Lastly, craigslist (though this never works for me)

Thanks CPU....I have no preference, if it's not the right color, I can get it sanded and repainted at a shop where I know the owner.

Sadly enough, I didn't even think about checking Ebay lol. I'll do that.

If you have painting connections, then eBay will be great for you. You should be able to get the rear bumper for less than $200 shipped.

Primed hood $400 shipped: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HOOD-...ht_2159wt_1165

Or go aftermarket with a CF hood and a different bumper.

And here's the link for the marketplace: http://g35driver.com/forums/exterior-fs-usa-102/

Better deals than ebay, but I can never find anyone in my area.

Is it burning oil now? I'd get a compression test done before I spend alot of money fixing the cosmetic problems. Nissans have pretty fragile piston and oil rings from what i've read.

Sorry to hear the story. At least you have another beast in the Cobra. Mystichrome is the best color they have ever produced!

Good luck with the G........ What the hell did your ex do to that tire?

Thanks. I agree, I love the color. It's my 2nd Cobra, I had an 03 10th Ann. Ed as well. She's my playtoy.

That's a good question. She clearly just didn't care, and since she wasn't paying for it, (even though the original agreement was she was suppose to) she just let it go.
