Okay so i received a g35 coupe with just under 100,000 km on it. i was told at around 100,000 km, alot of things need to be exchanged. i been doing some reseaerch online and am getting mixed findings. some say this should be fixed at say.. 120,000 km and some sourcdes say it needs to be fixed at 100,000.

so i was wondering getting some feedback from actual g35 drivers.

what are the list of things that need to be replaced / inspected at 100,000km ? i have a 04 g35 coupe AUTO, completely stock.

I would say just air filter, cabin filter and transmission fluid.

Most the maintaince is 100k miles not km.

 

What about the timing belt?

 

(Assuming 100k Miles and not 100km, which is about 62k Miles)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there is a maint. interval for the timing belt on our cars (never heard of anyone with a problem in this area).

The plugs will need to be changed as part of the 105k miles service (check here). When they are doing the plugs, have them check this TSB as well, which is a common problem on our cars:Check this before your powertrain warranty is up!

You may want to also figure out when the following services were done last: Transmission Drain and Refill, Brake Fuild Flush, Power Steering Flush, Coolant Drain and Refill, Rear Diff service.

I try to do all of the above at 30k intervals.

Other items to check on the suspension are common wear and tear things like front and rear endlinks, compression rod bushings and see if the struts/shocks are leaking (recommend replacing at 100k miles regardless as it makes a world of difference).

 

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt especially if he hasn't changed them out by now.

 

These cars have timing chain.

 

Nissan engines will last. There members on here with 200k miles on there original engines.

The timing chain will last you the life of the engine, but i would maybe check the timing chain tensioner at around 150k miles. Some have known to fail and bend the valves.

 

Has anyone replaced a timing chain tensioner? If so, what did this cost.

Note that this is also the source of the knock when you first start the car when it's cold (started to occur after the 79k mile range for me).

 

Ok that's good solid info . How much would all this cost me ballpark ? I live in southern Ontario if that helps

 

sorry i dont know the cost..i never had it replaced. If the tensioner hasn't completely failed, you can probably just replace it through the access panel.

If the tensioner rod goes all the way through to the tensioner guide, you pretty much have to take off the timing over and i'm sure that involves dropping the engine.
