Just bought G35, where to start?
I just bought a G35 coupe 2003 with 90,000 miles. The car has some work to be put into it but i have no idea what should i start with first .
This is what it needs:
1. 4 new tires (the ones it has are not that bad)
2. New brakes and/or rotors, (rotors have a lot of rust on them)
3. New front bumper
4. Double din pioneer radio (has stock)
5. Tune up! ( just bought, i always like getting a full tune up)
6. Exhaust maybe?
7. New headlights, current headlights are **** yellow
Btw the car is completely STOCK, but what type of work should a g35 with 90,000 miles have done to it?

"Tune up" always seemed like some ambiguous mechanic word for, "I'm going to charge you for some stuff but I'm not even sure what I should claim that I did so I'll just make up something that sounds good."
I know not everyone wants to work on their own car, but I feel like you'll be much less likely to be taken advantage of if you actually know what you want done rather than just asking for a tuneup and seeing what happens.
Some things I'd consider:
Oil change
Fluid in rearend and transmission
Coolant
Spark Plugs
Cabin filter
Windshield wipers (if yours are crappy)

Need parts? Our Marketplace is the place to shop!
Start with new brakes/rotors! If you don't have service records drain/fill all fluids...all! If she's running good buy her some new tires. With that kinda mileage a new set of plugs is in order. Watch on our Marketplace for a member selling his '06 projector headlights, that's the best upgrade you can make on a first gen G35! Read all the stickys at the top of the coupe page for further imporvements or upgrades. A lot of TLC will go a long way in making this ride enjoyable to drive/keep. Questions, use our Search...Gary

Agree with all, maintenance first, then looks and performance. I have to admit, I did call my paintless dent removal out the first chance I got and then clay bar, compound, polish, seal/waxed the hell out of it, so I'm guilty of skipping a step or two. But, considering I did all this in the first week or so, I guess that's not too bad:
New remote control (only got one with car)
Dent removal
Bosch wiper blades
2x Serpentine belts
Oil change
Air Filter
Cabin Air Filter
LED light bulb kit instal (license, trunk, map, doors)
Spare keys x2 (still need to get cut/programmed)
Smoked turn signals
Power steering drain/fill
Auto Tranny drain, fill
Michelin Pilot A/S 3 (shipped)
Stoptech rotors, SS lines, Hawk ceramic brake pads, (shipped)
Mobil 1 75W-90 LS lube to go in rear diff, sitting in garage waiting for 10mm hex socket
New floor mats (shipped)
Still need to:
spark plugs
main coolant hoses, drain/fill coolant
brake fluid drain/fill when changing out brake lines
alignment check
Powdercoat brake calipers
curb rash on two wheels fixed (or new wheels)
Then:
air intake
exhaust
tune?

First thing I do whenever I buy a used car is change all the fluids. Oil, transmission, differential, brake, and radiator. You just dont know how old they are.
Sparkplugs are a pain to get to on this car, so from what I've heard, change them when you put on your MREV2 or spacer (I have yet to do either, but its a VERY common mod for the 3.5L engine).
The MREV2/Spacer mod is probably the best bang for your buck. 20rwhp for $600 (depending on your model)
