Electric charged G35 coupe

I work for Kia and the way our hybrid works is it has a 141 hp engine and a 49 hp electric engine. When both engines are engaged it produces 199 hp. The gasoline engine is primary and the electric motor is placed inline like a torque converter. This same technology is used in the mclaren P1 with a 727 hp twin turbo 3.8 v8 and 176 hp electric motor. So my question is why couldn't we add an electric motor to increase performance? The power curve would be awesome too because electric power is almost instant. This is just kind of a food for thought topic. It is probably to expensive to be worth it but I thought I was a cool idea.

Simple .... space & how would this be incorporated onto the power/drivetrain ? Would the benefits of this be better than a supercharger/turbo? Would this be for economy & how much weight would this ad ?

The only guidelines I have is what I am familiar with and that is the hybrids I sell. On those systems the electric motor sits between the gas engine and the transfer case. I honestly dont know if it would be better than a turbo but if you had a 200 hp electric motor putting the overall power in the 450 range would be huge in my opinion. As for weight the batteries we use weigh 91 lbs plus however much the electric motor would weigh.

Definitely interesting. The torque would be crazy. You would lose that VQ sound!!!!
