Debadging 2005 G35 Coupe with 100K+ miles

Hey y'all, first post!
Did some searching but can't seem to find what I'm looking for...
Has anyone debadged their G when it had over 100K miles/badges been on for 10 years? Most people seem to have done it a lot earlier and I am concerned that if I debadge, I'll end up with ghost marks that will refuse to leave...
Thanks again guys

You will have to buff them out. Up to you!

Do you recommend I get a buffing wheel? Or will I be fine with buffing by hand?

Debadged mine Casper the emblem remained. Btw what color do you have? It showed up in certain lighting with my LS color. Best is debadge the g35 badge and go from there and see how bad the ghosting is. At least that's a lot less conspicuous compared to the Infiniti word badge and will give you a better idea of what you're dealing with

Good luck getting it out by hand..
Mine never came out. Have a new trunk though now

What he said, depends on color & every car is different. Did my 04 coupe last year & it showed. Quick buff & all came off.

Yeah, that's my main concern jerseytaylor, is the ghosting never leaving. I have an OB coupe so it will probably be quite prevalent...
Undecided what to do. I love the clean look of just Mt. Fuji but this whole ghosting thing has just got me spooked (no pun intended lol).

I just took my badges off about two weeks ago, and my car's got about 101k on it. It's black and the Ghost badges went away after i washed and waxed it.

Really?? Sweet! What'd you use?
I'm thinking fish line, blow dryer, and goo gone?

I used a hairdryer and and old credit card, the adhesive came off real easy. Be careful with the Goo Gone, i used it on my last car that was a little older and it ate the clear coat. Couldnt been because it was an older car, but I would just use some caution!

There's a correct way to debadge. (search using the word debadge) Ghosts can be removed regardless of how long they've been on. High speed buffer and compound will remove whatever is left once the letters are removed!

Alright, I'm going to search and most likely debadge within the next week! I'll post pics when I'm done.
Thanks to you all!

Reason I suggested you try a Search, we've been debadging since '03 and are very successful. We get new members that don't bother Searching giving advice about something they don't know squat about. There's a right & wrong way to do many things, a little research will show you the correct way!
