Vacuum Leak

Hello, so my 2006 g35 coupe has the check engine light. I took it to an auto parts store to check it out and they said it could be a vacuum leak. So for about a month now, my stock intake tube has been ripped from the middle. I tried taping it up for a temporary fix but its time to get it replaced. I posted a pic of it and the replacement I'm planning to do in a few days once it arrives. This pic is from Google as i cannot take a picture of it at the moment. But i am replacing it with a Z-Tube. Should be arriving around monday or so. I was wondering if this could be a cause for a vacuum leak? I'm pretty sure it is since it has a big gap in the middle of the tube but i needed a few more opinions on it so i don't get my hopes up. Thanks for any responses guys.

Absolutely a cracked intake tube will cause a vacuum leak especially if it's after the MAF.. You're essentially sucking in extra air into the engine..
