(Please Help) U1001 and U1212 error codes

Hey guys I have a project car i am working on it is a 2003 G35 I am building a KIt. The person that had it before me really stripped the car down.

The car starts but i am getting error codes U1001 and U 1212.

My question is was does the Communication Line/CAN look for. What does the connectors look like as well and where are the grounds for this Communication line. I have searched high and low for these answers. I see a ground behind instrument cluster and another ground above ECU on passenger side. Is there something I am missing.

My head lights, tail lights, windshield wiper does not work. the hazards work and the reverse light.

I found this part on Ebay I dont know if I need this or not. I looked in the car and I did not see this part no where.

The P1212 is a tcs system code. Most likely there is a communication line open going to abs/vdc control unit or something. The part in your pic is a GPS antenna that goes behind the cluster right at the base of windshield(under the dash). This would have been for a car with factory navigation as well. You need to check the U1001 code first since it is relating to the P1212 code. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the reply jason. can you tell me where the VDC is located or the Communication line or what the communication line looks like. Do you think this could also be the cause for my tail lights, horn, and other things not working

I would say that the horn, tail lights, etc.is probably a fuse issue. If I am not mistaken on that model, the abs control unit is a big box directly below the steering column. Not sure which wires are the CAN high and CAN low though.
