Help! Temperature Control Problem!

So, I bought a 2006 G35 coupe about a month ago and I'm having an issue where the AC only works when set to the lowest temperature, 60 degrees Fahrenheit. If you turn it to 61 degrees, it immediately changes to heat. Now I've searched and found that it is most likely due to a faulty or disconnected cabin temperature sensor. Therein lies my problem, I cannot for the life of me find this sensor online and furthermore I cannot find a proper guide on how to get the lower dash cover off to see if it is even plugged in. I know that it is supposed to sit behind that cover by the driver's right knee, my car has dual zone temperature control, however; does that mean that there is another sensor on the passenger's side that could also be the culprit? If someone could provide a link to where I can buy this sensor and/or details on how to remove the plastic dash cover (the one under the steering wheel), I would really appreciate it. I've searched and searched finding very little useful information. Thanks in advance!

Okay so I found the sensor: http://www.infinitipartsonline.com/i...erature-sensor

I'd still like to know exactly how to get that plastic panel below the steering column off though. There's a screw right below the hood release and two more that seem to only hold the OBD II connector in place, but even with those out it's hard to move and I don't want to break anything.

Okay, this thread can be deleted. I got the panel off found that the sensor wasn't even plugged in, plugged it in and who'd of thunk, works perfectly. I also found that the previous owner spilled coffee one more time than I previously thought, so I'll have something to do tomorrow too.

No need to delete. Thanks for reporting what you found. Now in the future if someone searches for this issue, they can see what solved it.

If only more guys reported in when they solved a problem. Dead end problem threads suck
