Terrible Wheel Bearings

Terrible Wheel Bearings
Hi,
So for the past almost 12 months my 05 g35 has been making a motor boat/loud fan noise whenever I went over 15mph so i went to check it out and the mechanic said all the wheel bearings are in a really bad condition and it would cost me $2,800 to fix it (I visited one of the cheapest place near by my place, also a 4.5 star on yelp..) and as of right now I can't afford to pay because of other personal expenses.
any advices? Sell it for parts buy a new car or just fix it up?
How long would my car last?
Thanks

The guy is planning to a$$rape you. I very highly doubt that you need to replace all of your wheel bearings at once. Maybe one is bad, possibly two. Even if you had to replace all 4, the cost of parts wouldn't be more than $500. Is he really going to charge you $2000 for labor to replace something where the whole thing is an assembly and you don't even need to use a bearing puller?

Buy the parts and do it Your self. You dont need a press' for the fronts not sure about the rears .
A year is a long time to push something like that aside. But here's a vid to help

I agree with what has been said already, I doubt all four went bad at once. Identify the problem to the front or rear and then replace them as a pair. The truth though is that you can replace only one bearing at time.
Good luck

Hello everyone, so i did change my right front wheel bearing . My only advice to everyone is to double check and make sure you put the dust shield the right way or you will be doing it over like me !! I havent had any problems besides that since i used air tools . After i had the bolts out i used a puncher and hammer to hit each bolt till the hub came out . Took me about 10 min to get the hub out, just go around and punch all of them little by little. For me it was a really easy job just wasted extra time because i didnt pay enough attention . My car has 80k its a 05 and the car been in Nj all its life .. hope this helps!!
