Need help with my intake
I installed a new Kai intake that had really good reviews. It's not my first intake I've installed so I know all the connections are good but my car won't even stay on. It almost sounds like it's getting too much air. What gives? Anyone have any ideas what's going on?

if the car was fine before it. take it off. i hope youre not talking about the one on amazon (
double check your maf sensor cable, vacuum hoses, and couplers. if the maf is plugged correctly and snapped in. it should be fine assuming vacuums and couplers were checked. im wondering if those cone filters come with oil on it or did they tell you to apply it?
edit: if it is the one on the link, supposably its a dry (no oil) filter hence shouldnt have damaged your maf.
its written on these forums like a million times. this car does better with a simple z-tube and the stock air box. if what you wanted were looks, then dont buy engine parts off ebay/amazon unless it is a very well known product/company with good reputation and not just a couple of good reviews. they have metal pipe intakes from alot of different sites.

dont be stingy with these cars. not a good way to go.

im curious now because i googled and all i can find were good reviews about them (old but thats all that came up). besides a few typical "my order took too long" threads with a response from z1 in it explaining why (which yes they could have told him instead of waiting for him to post). im just curious if i should know something ahead of time because they got some good pricing on some stuff i want to get.
would be appreciated!

Holy crap rramos, quality cone filters cost more than this whole intake! One thing I can guarantee, when the weather gets warm this intake will suffer from heat soak causing you a major loss in WHP allowing a '70 VW bus to leave you at the stop sign. Intakes offer zero WHP gains on a good day, cheap units like yours will cause more harm than good thru poor filtering! All you needed was a z-tube for sound and a K&N drop in filter for more cleaner air...Gary
