Window motor replacement

Window motor replacement
My driver's side power window seems to be going out. In the past week it has stopped working twice but eventually it started working again. A new Infiniti replacement motor is nearly $500 which is absolutely an absurd amount of money.
In any case I'll need to source a new aftermarket motor. Cardon and Dorman both make replacements for a fraction of the OEM Infiniti unit. Does anyone had any experience with the aftermarket window motors? How hard to change the window motor out?

Here is an example of what is available on ebay including free shipping. As I said, my experience was positive, couldn't pass on the price. Good luck with whatever you decide.driving:

If it intermittently doesn't work, you most likely just need to take the motor out, clean it up, lube it up and put it back in.
I've done this to my drivers side window and am still on the original '04 window motor.. it's been problem free for almost 3 years since doing that. You basically remove the motor from the door, pry out the center shaft of the motor and clean all the carbon and debris out of it. I lubed up contact points with some high end marine grease and reassembled it. Be careful not to scrape up the rounded magnets too much when putting the motor center shaft back into the housing.
If the motor is already dead and you are gonna replace it.... what do you have to lose?
