Check Engine Soon light after removed pop-charger
so i recently got a ticket for having expired tags on my plate (stupid me i know!). i finally decided to take my car into the shop for a smog test and was told that the air intake i have is illegal and i need to put back the OEM. long story short, i finally found the OEM intake and when i replaced it, the "Service Engine Soon" light came on.
is this because i reset the ECU? do i need to reset it again for longer (than the 30 min i did it for)?
side note: the ticket says i can correct it for a $10 fine if done so in 14 days. but the smog test paper says to allow for 30 days for the tags to be delivered. anyone have had to deal with this before?
thanks!

the guy doing the smog test told me to drive 100 miles before bringing it back into the shop. should i just take it to a different place?

I have swapped my OEM intake and mixed and matched my Wolf Pop Charger, Z tube, G tube, RevUp box w K&N and have not had any problems. I have always reset the ECU using the gas pedal method. It's fast and easier than the 30 min. reset. Try that first just to make sure the ECU reset takes.

Andriod...get a Bluetooth ELM327. Iphone, you will need to get a wifi equipped ELM327 (about $15)
After that, pick an app, and you have a VERY good handheld scanner and can keep the dongle in your glovebox.
Then, no more guessing. You can read codes, reset codes, and get live data as well as know if you would pass a state emmissions test without doing the "drive 100 miles" BS.
BTW, after I reset the codes, my G35 is emmissions ready within 10 miles on a single start. Quickest car I know to reset all the monitors.
PS: Check to see that your MAF is plugged back in. Easy one to forget.
