The flywheel on our car plays an important roll in balancing the motor out and absorbing vibrations. Might want to think twice about whether or not you really want to go lightweight since a lot of people find themselves unhappy with the cars characteristics after swapping one in.

light weight flywheel

How hard core do you truly want to be... is this a full out drag car? If it's a DD I'd keep the stock flywheel as its not super noisy and works well, I've read a whole lot of cons to a lightweight flywheel that don't seem to be worth the minimal weight savings. just my 0.02

You know, I have a shaved OEM flywheel with a new clutch(OEM also). It only chatters when it's not completely warmed up. So let's say I start the car then press the clutch down its chatters a bit. Eh, no big deal.. I always let my car get warmed up before I drive it anyway. And if it does a little chatter here or there it's very minimal.

I have a JWT clutch and fly. It rattles so loud when I'm idling it's ridiculous.

Not sure what I'm going to go with next.

im not sure why people have issues with the flywheel.

i have jwt lightweight flywheel and clutch combo and i love it. a little bit of chatter sometimes in a parking lot but thats about it. no more noisy than it was before, no more vibrations than i had before either.

i also have long tubes and a laundry list of other mods.
but the lightweight flywheel is for drivers and drivers cars. dual mass bullshit is for people that want to pick up groceries and think they drive stick well.

After driving with the same set up for the last three years, I don't even hear it anymore. The performance and longevity of the JWT clutch is WELL worth the little bit of noise it creates. Even my wife doesn't mind, mainly cause it's her car.

Well mine doesn't make just a little chatter it's very loud.

Doesn't do it every time I idle but a majority of the time it's ridiculous.

I also have long tube headers like Andrew said above, plenty of other mods too. The car came with a light weight flywheel and new upgraded clutch but have no idea what brand(s) they are. I was told ACT stage 2 clutch and light weight flywheel but that owner didn't install it, and he wasn't sure.

Personally I love it. The more rev happy nature suits the car, especially after the Osiris tune unlocked the true power of the mods on it, and it handles so well on my new suspension upgrades. I notice very little of anything you would call chatter. If anything I thought it was the throw out bearing.

One of these days if I get sick of my 5th gear grind I'll swap to a CD009 transmission and then I'll find out what is in it. Till then, chatter (?) on, and rev happy.
