Strange Heater Issue

Hi all,

I have a 2005 6MT coupe with 20000 miles on it!
So I drove for a bit today... up here in canada (its actually around 63-65 degrees Fahrenheit so pretty warm)..

however, i noticed my heat wasnt really working as it has since i got the car( and i use my heat often I know how hot it feels normally):

18degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius on the display felt almost the same (though 26 was ever so slightly warmer as if it was TRYING to heat in some way)....

the weird part... as soon as i turned past 29 or up to 32... it got hot as heck as it normally should!

Im confident its not a coolant issue as its the same at idle or driving and my coolant is full and im aware of the issues that air bubbles would cause.

I checked the two 15A fuses in driver area(though not sure if they would even affect what im experiencing)

What could i be dealing with here?

Blower works fine, ive tried different settings, recirculate, ac on etc. fan speeds work. Just doesnt heat properly mid-temp range and all of a sudden gets hot in the higher temp range.

Thanks!

I'm not sure of what your issue could be, but i have something funky going on too it seems. When i run my fan in the car, the temperature seems to be too warm most of the time. In the summer, running the fan feels like my heater is on. Could this be because the compactness of my G35 coupe is having a heat transfer from heater lines or something? It seems to do this at any temperature setting (not sure if that matters when it's just the fan running). Now in cooler weather it doesnt seem so bad, but still noticeable after the engine warms up.

Major I'm sorry, not a clue on your issue.

rusk1y, it's generally accepted here not to "jack" other people's threads. You're encouraged to search for an answer to your problem before you post anything and if that proves unsuccessful then start a thread of your own. That being said are you talking about running the fans w/o the A/C engaged? If so your situation is perfectly normal. Our engine bays transmit a lot of heat from the motor into the cabin, must be some kind of design issue. My car does the exact same thing and it has for the 9 years I've owned it. If the A/C is engaged the my guess is you have a freon leak and need to have the system pressure tested for a solution.

Sorry. Didnt mean to jack Major's thread. I did do a search but most of all results were about overheating or replacing radiators. I was pretty sure your answer was what i wanted to know all along. Its a normal issue and its not just me.
