Thumbs up 2006 vs 2004

I met a guy who is parting out his 2006 g35 DG coupe 5AT. I have a 2004.5 TB Coupe 5AT. Would I be able to swap the instrument cluster and shift boot out of his car into mine. They are improved from my model year and I think it looks nicer.

I believe cluster does require some reprogramming in the computer though. At least that's my experience with newer cars. Without it, you may run into a vehicle security system issue. not 100% sure though as I'm going off info from some oooooold threads.

Shift boot can be done, but not direct bolt up. It has been done. There are some old threads of guys swpping in the newer shifter boots and *****. I gave it a quick search but came up empty. The newer boot is designed to click onto bottom of the shifter ****, but the 03-04 **** is designed to stand alone without a boot.

So some internet searching on putting 05-07 shifter setups into a 03-04 to see what parts you need to get. I'm thinking boot, ****, the blue inner shifter pin, and perhaps the trim

EDIT:

Here you go. You actuallt need the FX shifter plate, not the G35 boot. You still need the **** though

I have the 2004.5 coupe. The **** is identical to the 06 coupe. The only difference is the plate/boot. I wish I would have taken pics to show you guys (next time hehe). I think having to reprogram the cluster would end up being too much work for not enough gain so I've given up on that. As for the boot the guy wants to sell his car in one piece now which means I'll have to find another car first before I can swap it.

I'd need to see pics of your setup. My understanding is the boot/**** changed for the 2005 interior refresh.
