Little worried...

Hey guys, I was about to lift the car when I spotted this little part that seems to be melted. I am pretty new to cars so excuse if it is a dumb question but I do not know exactly what is the function of that little part since it seems to be melted I took a picture to give a better understanding of the situation. Please let me know what you guys think it is, cheers!

Those are the bushings of the lower control arm from your previous post. They are done! It is easier to post than search and read the thread but you will actually gain more knowledge by reading since this issue has been talked about so many times here. I am still learning too that is why I read.

Call the shop BlueDream had suggested you in your area and get an estimate. Goodluck and welcome!

OP if you call 5 Star ask them to just swap out new bushings in the lower control arms rather than replace the whole arm. They might even let you purchase them and bring them with you to the shop when you have the work done, they're super cool. That'll save you some cash as the arms themselves are fine, it's just the POS bushings that fail.

That's not your control arm dude. That is one of your outer tie rod ends and it looks like it might have a tear in it and it's leaking grease. That is part of your steering system, so if you replace it you'll need an alignment as well. If it fails you'll hear clunking, possibly noise turning, and worse case scenario the ball joint breaks loose.

That's what I thought. Have you local alignment shop check both sides driver/passenger outer tie rod.

I sent it to a shop nearby because 5 star was pretty busy for the week, and I needed that job done. I will definitely work with them on future repairs though! Send me a link the page of the G35 group y'all have, I wanna check it out!
