Vdc & slip wont reset

Vdc & slip wont reset
Went to the dealer to get an alignment & get these codes cleared, but they couldn't get them to reset. They said they wouldn't reset even when the car wasn't moving, and it needs a new clockspring.
All the wheel controls work, no sign the clockspring is bad, does this seem correct? I don't mind replacing it if it will allow the vdc & slip to work again, but I also don't want to throw money at parts hoping it will fix it.
The brakes are new, fluid is topped off, battery is new, car has about 40k miles on it. No running problems, abs or check engine light

I'd take the car to another shop to get a second opinion but don't tell them about the first diagnosis. It sounds reasonable to me that the clockspring needs replacing, but that's not a very common issue with our cars. If the second shop makes the same suggestion replace the b!tch.........

I'm going to do that. My main concern here is that it could be a bad steering angle sensor, which doesn't come with the clockspring. I don't want to pull everything & install & have the same problem with a new part that didn't need replacing.

What are the codes that was cleared by previous dealer? You can start from there. If you have C1143, C1115,C1114 those are related to ABS, SAS etc. It seems to me the previous dealer wants to get more $$$ from your pocket. Mine was reset by dealer with no issues. Get a 2nd opinion from a different nissan dealer.

A couple of weeks ago my mechanic replaced my rear bearings, both sides. Same day, I picked up my car, 20 miles later, my SLIP, VDC came on and would not reset. He hooked it up to the code reader and it said "Rear ABS Sensor". Dealer wanted $325 for the part...I bought it at Amazon for $27.99 shipped. He replaced it for free and the lights went away. He laughed because he could not believe it was so cheap. Good Luck. I would get a second opinion just like Blue Dream said.
