G35 Wide Body Kit

Hey fam, haven't used this site in a while but I wanted to share a project that I'm working on with you guys.
A few weeks ago, I started working on a wide body kit for my G and now I'm at a point where I feel like I can share it so here it is.

I will do my best to keep this thread updated but I post most a lot more on my Instagram @zac_g35 If you have any questions, feel free to message me on here.

Any comments or criticism is welcomed

Yep. The G is a car of curves not creases.

Thanks for the input guys. The sharp lines are mostly there so I can visually tell that all the lines match up to certain points on the car. They will be smoothened down later on if that changes anything.

Well the buttholes have come out with their early criticisms! Keep up the work. Gotta love some custom.

Nope just an honest opinion as requested. First gen Gs are curvaceous. The creases started with 2nd gen and took over with the Q50 in line with the current aesthetic.

what is the step by step process of the build?
How do you build it up and what are you going to use for a finish layer?

Props to you man. Custom wide bodies are hard to do, and even harder to make them look like they "fit." Sub'd to see progress.

As long as everyone gives their honest, unbiased opinions, it's cool with me. Also, thanks!

You're absolutely right about the curves. However, the way I see it; there's no reason why we can't wander outside of the box a little. And who knows... maybe that's the reason so may G wide body kits have failed or have something "missing" from them. Either way, thanks for the feedback.

It has definitely been a struggle but I feel that the kit is moving in the right direction.

I did a lot of research on building a custom kit. I've seen people use metal and fiberglass, clay, shiit... I've even seen guys use paper mache but I decided to go with expanding foam as a base and then Bondo to finish it off. I'll post up a step by step soon.

Thanks! Oh yeah for sure. I'd estimate that I'm a few months into this project and I've put in well over 300 hours. I'll do my best to keep this thread updated as best as I can.

In for updates.

I was going to attempt the same. I watched multiple videos, read tons of articles, but when I tried to apply what I found it wasn't as easy as it looked haha. I ended up drawing up and cutting a set from ABS sheet and they turned out much better than I expected. I've got some changes to make to them this winter. Also contemplating bringing them all the way down to the side skirts or not.

Damn that looks really good for cut ABS sheets! And also, here's a panorama of the flares
