Yes the synchronizer is bad in 3rd gear. I can get the transmission replaced with a stock 03 one under warranty or I can pay $400 and get it replaced with the CD009 from a 2007.

That's a hard call for me. Is the 03 brand new and how long will the warranty be on that one? How many miles are on the CD009 and is there any warranty that comes with that?

If the 03 is new I'd probably lean towards that one but the 009 is a superior setup so IDRK.........

Ill have to ask. Pretty surr there wont be any warranties on either one. The Cd supposedly has 1k on it. The 03 probably has a decent amount of miles. Ill find out today.

Something seems off here, how are you getting your transmission replaced 'under warranty' on a 14 year old car? And how does the 07 CD have only 1K miles on it?

When i got my car from the shop the synchronizer was bad in 3rd gear but they gave me 3months warranty. The cd has 67k but he said it sells for $1000.

Now I'm even more confused. If you bought the car and 3rd gear synchro was already bad, why would they give you a 'warranty'? A bad synchro is a bad synchro and does not fix itself or improve after you drive off or fix itself within 3 months. Who or why would they give a warranty on that?

So the CD is $1000 or 1K refers to mileage???? You need to be a bit more clear, trying to read through this.

You can get a CD009 for less than $1,000 if you shop around. But if you only have to come out of pocket $400 to get a CD009 installed, then I say go for it. Another '03 would probably have the same issue.

If you want a brand new one, a CD00A (latest revision) runs about $1,800 or so.
