Question Steering Shuddering

Hi guys,

Just finished doing a re-shell from my old 03 G35 to a 04 G35.

Swapped Brembo Brakes/Rotors over as well (previous owner of 04 shell didnt sell shell with his brembos)

... Anyway, First time start up/turning the wheels while its on the ground rolling car around I can feel a violent shuddering come through the steering wheel during the turning action (power steering was freshly topped up) .. only happens when turning haven't gone for a long drive other than this small drive around due to not being currently on the road.

Anyone had similar issues?

Cheers in advance!

Getting that kind of reaction should only tell you something wasn't installed correctly or do the Brembo calipers clear the wheels on the new ride?

Same setup

Im running the exact same brake, wheel and suspension setup as old car.. odd thing is it isnt always happening.. but is noticeable when it does i was thinking maybe air in power steering lines or something will bleed and see how it goes

The "Violent Shudder" you describe has zero to do with your power steering! It's a rotational mismatch some where in the brake job you did! Recheck how you installed the rotors/claipers, proper torq and everything...Gary

It could be that, or the U joint from the steering column to the rack has gotten all frozen up. Spray some PB blaster or equivalent stuff on it and see if it solves your issue.

Logical I would have never thought of that, living in SoCal nothing ever freezes up or rusts...Gary

No. Most of CA uses sand and not salt on roadways.

Humidity is lower, essentially being a desert.

Also, the salinity of the pacific is less than the Atlantic waters.

Living 35 miles east of the Pacific Ocean we're not effected by salt air, since it almost never snows in SoCal salt isn't used on our roads! Liberal mentality is the main drag on our life style here on the left coast!

Make sure nothing is bent and everything is properly aligned.
