Burning smell?

Well i was doing some spirit driving in my new G and when i got home and parked it in the garage i smelled a lot of what i believe is burnt rubber. I wasn't peeling out or anything. I was driving at around 80 mph on and off. I notice this in my old maxima too when i drive fast but it's a lot stronger in my G is there a problem with my car? Please help with this. I also have a creaking noise in my back near the rear speakers. I thought they fixed this problem in the 3.5s? does anyone know what the fix for it is? So i can tell the dealer? I believe it is coming from the back right near the speakers. It sounds like 2 plastics rubbing. Please help me on this. Thanks for the help guys! LOVE THAT G

Re: Burning smell?

If it's a 'sulfery' smell sort of like rotten eggs, it's from the unleaded gas. Sometimes after a hard drive, cars will smell like that.
One of my clients has a Lexus GS that smells like that all the time! LOL Her husband is really starting to hate the car.

Re: Burning smell?

To me, it smelled more like a burnt clutch. Anyway, my service rep assured me that it was normal. Some sort of protective coating on the exhaust for transport across the ocean that takes a few hundred miles to burn off.

Re: Burning smell?

I smell the same when we first got it. We though something was wrong with it.

We got 600 miles on it now and the burning smell is almost gone.

Love my G
