How do you remove wiper ARMS (not just blades)?
I have a rattle at the base of my windshield. I found an Infiniti TSB that talks about removing the cowls just below the windshield on the outside. The first step in this process, however, calls for completely removing the wiper arms so you can then take off the cowls.
I'm afraid to do this without screwing something up. Can somebody tell me how to remove them and how to put them back once I'm done? Thanks!

sometimes the wiper arm will seize on the stud...if you get a small propane torch and heat the stud and arm a little bit it should pop off if you apply some pressure where the arm pivots, if that does not work a light tap with a hammer will get it loose...of course that is after you remove the nut first...GL

you do not need to take the wiper off to change the blades.
Changing blades is simple: lift up wiper arm, rotate just the blade, and pull up. Should pop the whole blade off. Then you just slide out the old insert and slide in the new one.
I believe the nut holding on the wiper arm is 14mm. Use a little leverage and this should come off with no problem. As for the blade being stuck on the notched bolt, apply upward pressure right beside the bolt and it will come up. If you try to lift up the whole wiper arm you will never get it off without possible issues.
