Re: G35 sedan vs. coupe

Thank you everybody for your input. And after all the thought i've put into this question (coupe or sedan) i've finally decided to go with the coupe.

Everybody's input has been extremly helpful, and i really appreciate it.

P.S. Anybody know of any G35 meets in the toronto area?

THANKS AGAIN

-Mark

Ceeze, good luck on getting a good deal on your coupe.
You should get a medal for starting the first civil thread comparing the coupe to the sedan .

Re: G35 sedan vs. coupe

Good choice. You're 20 years old for cripe's sake! If you need to carry 4 people make them suffer, who cares about who's in the BACK, they're in the BACK for crying out loud. They should be happy they even have seat belts!

Sedan's are nice certainly, but at age 20, if you can afford a $35K car, get a damn coupe and never look back.

You'll have plenty of time for Sedans, and believe me, Sedans will have plenty of time for you.

Haha, shader, you make me feel like I'm 50. I'm 23, could afford either or, and chose a sedan Then again, I've been told I'm mentally 40. I don't think it was a compliment.

Good call on that not being a compliment I have been told I need to act my age as well, guess I didn't grow up!

You're only young once. Flaunt it. Get the G coupe. You can be practical later.

That's for sure, that's all I had at your age, I had several Mustangs, you can drive a sedan later on!

Re: G35 sedan vs. coupe

Just to confuse you further - I have the 6mt sedan and to be sure once you are in the car and driving you wouldnt know the difference - both are plently quick and the interior is identical, but the sedan removes the Daddy's rich boy syndrome, has a bit less flash, perhaps Girls will like you for who you are not what you drive!!. Besides in 4 years from now, comes that marriage thing, buying a house and real world costs!!! so it might not be opportune to trade the car at that time and you might really appreciate the practicality if you end up keeping the car versus being under pressure to trade for something practical - this way you get the best of both worlds - a great car for now and the future, less stigma of look at that rich kid and perhaps girls that like you not your car!!

Re: G35 sedan vs. coupe

Heh, you know we all love you Geo.

For those that bought the sedan, congratulations! They are awesome cars. The barebones loaner I drove for a few days was every bit as fast as my coupe according to my butt dyno.

I'm just saying if you really want the coupe, then get it. Same for the sedan. However, the sedan, in some cases, is the compromise car. It's more practical, less flashy, more family oriented, and just as fast; for some, an excellent compromise. That said, nobody compromises by getting the coupe.

Every time I go out to my car, no matter where it happens to be, it's sitting there, smiling back at me. Right now I'm looking at it through my office window. I just washed it yesterday and did a full CG apply. it's awesome. People have been walking by all day, the first nice sunny day here in a while. They slow down and crane their necks as they pass. They stand by it in pairs pointing at the brakes, the Navi screen (I think), and whatever else they seem to find interesting. Tonight I'm going out to a formal schnazzy awards banquet and I simply cant wait to see the valet pull my car around for me and my wife.

If you really want the sedan, then get one. They are indeed awesome as C&D has just told the world. If deep-down you want the look of the coupe, don't hesitate, buy it.

Remember, life is a one-way trip so get what you want. No compromises, no regrets.

Re: G35 sedan vs. coupe

there are just as many compromises with the coupe. No rear headroom, 2 doors, slow as hell entry assist on the pass. seat, small trunk. that's why I bought a sedan - no compromises for me... it's all about perspective

That's my point exactly. It looks like you made the right choice.
