here is one from few years ago, with a bone stock car. Right now i can hold the slides much longer and better, due to more experience and better suspension set up.

LMAO I was about to say you need to kill the lights, then you did. I wish I had a nice empty wet parking lot right now. What did you do to the suspension? I'm planning to teach myself better drifting this fall/winter- pretty good at starting and stopping, just not at maintaining the balance. Any pointers for practice?

350z shocks, s-tech springs and hotchkis sways, Stiff -rear and mid-front setting. I played around with sway settings and with this setting the car is very neutral and there is no initial understeer like u saw in the video.

As far as learning, it is best to do at low speeds in wet condition to save tire, stress on the car etc. The best advice for a starter to remain as calm as possible when sliding the car. If u are tense u will spin out like i was doing in the vid. And if u learn to control the car in wet then it will be much more easier for u to control it in dry.

I was in a situation about 3 months ago when my car started sliding at 75-80 mph on the freeway because of a retard young girl going over 100mph. I was able to control the car and managed to stay in one lane with VDC off. If i had no experience i would have swept the whole freeway out.

not to be a dck, and also i dont doubt your skills right now...but that in no way really qualifies as "drifting".....sorry...but that was just turning the vdc off, taking a corner and as your exiting the turn you step on the gas..post a vid of your current skills?

I never claimed i got "skills", To have "skills" u have to utilize the handbrake, kicking the clutch method etc etc, and the reason i dont use or practice on those methods is because this is my daily driver and I am still running on the stock clutch being at 50k and it will be a expensive hobby which i can not afford right now.The only way i can go into a slide is either stepping on the gas in the middle of the corner or use the steering wheel jerk method to make the car lose balance and then regain it.
At the same time any given situation i come across to when it involves the car losing control, me knowing car control and anticipating a danger before it happens i can get out of the situation without freezing or getting surprised.

yea but sorry i came off as saying that YOu said you had skill..thats not what i meant but yea i know what you mean..i practice that stuff a lot and also know how to handle situations, i think the best method then without tearing everything up would be the simple feint method

LOL, I was waiting to see the drifting. It was basically coasting around the parking lot. Just kidding. With it being wet, I would of ended up in the pole and any car around. It would of been like the "how to drift" section from Tokyo Drift.

Well if thats what counts as drifting then I've been drifting for years now even in my '68 dodge dart gt!! Seriously though that what I call just having a kick azz time!!!

yea as long as its on purpose hehe its driftin..that is just one of the many methods of drifting its a more basic beginners method but it gets th job done..

im going to stop whoring this guys thread now...

once i get my turbo put on next week..im pretty much going to get coilovers..strut bar..sways..everything ill need to stiffen it out..then ill see whats up
