For anyone with an 03-04 sedan, I HIGHLY recommend the 05-06 airbox swap. I did it, and LOVE it. It really brought out the induction sound, along with a drop in filter and plenum spacer.

Here's the thread about it:

so i read the thread and got extremely confused. For my 2004, is it better to get a stillen intake/ztube or a 06 airbox with stillen ztube? i like the way it sounded when they said better throttle response and midrange shifting from the 06 airbox, but is it better than the stillen? . Thanks

It's a much less costly mod, and produces roughly the same results. Induction noise isn't amplified quite as much as with an aftermarket cone filter, but there's also no loss in power.

I don't even have a ZTube on yet and I LOVE my 05/06 airbox! I can't even imagine how great it'll be with a z-tube also!

Lastly, you don't HAVE to use Stillen's ZTube. An OEM ZTube from any Z will work

+1

I doubt there is more than a 1-2hp difference between the two. If you don't care about the additional intake sound go oem with a good drop-in filter like K&N, Amsoil, etc.

+2'd. The filter was what really made the biggest difference for me I think, as my OEM filter was nearly BLACK.

Not sure if they have an upgrade final drive for the X... but you can always get a reflash.

If you want power, test pipes or high flow cats both make good gains, even better with a tune. If you want more options, get cams. If you want cheap power, then I don't know what to tell ya.

There's really no such thing as cheap power for these cars

The stillen true dual fits the X. My friend Mike has it on his 05x

I hear a lot about z-tubes and pop chargers, but why doesn't anybody get a cold air intake? I have an AEM cold air and I love it. Plus, it clears up a lot of engine bay space that the air box takes up.

Long tube intakes are usually a trade off of low end to top end power. Since this car makes great torque down low and mid, shifting the power to the top makes no sense since you won't ever want to be riding the rpms as high.

First mod i got for my 06 g35X was a fujita intake..i love the sound.. then i swapped all my lights for LEDs, got the MD 5/16 copper (jersey gets random snow storms) which is a performance mod you can actually feel.. also got the bluebat tints for headlights and tail lights.. debadged it.. and some new fog lights.. mostly cosmetic.. saving for a HKS sports muffler with HR Y pipes, and swap in a magnaflow resonator. Hopefully it gets me that deeper aggressive note without the rasp. Oh yeah.. clear corners.. great cheap mod, I also replaced the bulb with a white LED.. cops here dont care too much about it.. im also fairly young.. 20 years old so i understand modding a car without a high income.. feel free to PM me about any of my mods so far

Can I have some suggestions? I have a black 06 G sedan. I'm getting an INGS Lips from Eric installed. Should I get side skirts? If yes, which ones would look good with this lip?

When I first bought my car, I got this Greddy cat back http://www.eautoworks.com/product-Greddy-23880.htm exhaust. Are there any other exhaust related components (y pipes, midpide, downpipe etc) that I should get? Right now I'm really happy with the sound but in low rpms it's sort of quiet. Any reccomendations? I'll be posting pictures soon of the whole car (including the exhaust) and asking what mods people think I should get next. Thanks in advance.

If you want more performance out of your exhaust set up I would look into headers and HR Y pipes, depending on your year sedan, if it is 03/04 I would swap in a coupe mid pipe, but if it is 05/06 the mid pipe is just as good and you would barely hear a difference. As far as sound goes, try taking out a resonator or swapping one with a magnaflow for a deeper growl.

Uhh...he has a cat-back exhaust, meaning the Y-pipe AND midpipe are both aftermarket...

High flow cats are about your last option. There's been a lot of research and headers just dont have that cost:benefit ratio...

EDIT: OR you could check out Motordyne's new XYZ pipe.

Looks like my car all grown up. She's beautiful. Guess I need to start modding!!!!!
