I know this is an old thread but I had to share my good fortune. I never knew what I was missing until I picked this up on Saturday. 06 G35x! Should've done it along time ago. has a few miles on it but had it detailed and you would never know. Runs like a top and drives like a dream. I know this is an suspension thread. All the parts and mods I see are for Coupes and Sedans, seems like everything excludes the X. Are there mods that don't exclude the X? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for letting me share.

Nice looking ride^^how many miles does she have on her?

You have a sedan, it's just the X model so most sedan mods will work on your car. There are some suspension and drivetrain differences so just be sure to do your research before buying anything you're not sure of.

It only had 150,000 miles. It still runs like a top and drives like a dream. After I got it home I checked the brakes and associated areas and found no leaks, no damage, no broken parts. My last car had almost 300,000, but this is such an upgrade it's not even funny. Except for a few door dings, after the detail, it looks like brand new. I'm really happy with it. The stereo is a little out dated so I'll be looking for that soon. Any recommendations?

Hi. I'm new here. Thought I'd add to the suspension thread. This is my 04 X. I have about 2 1/2 finger gap up front and 2 finger gap in the rear. It's sitting on cut springs (didn't want get rid of my newish springs but i hated the wheel gap) before stock i had 4-5 finger gap.

Rides STIFF but zero body roll and quicker turn in. Can be painful to the kidneys sometimes lol. My rear passengers don't complain. They say its smooth. I definitely feel the road tho.

Because the car is black the wheel gap is hard to see. This is a better picture. I'm sitting on stock 17s with 225/50/r17 square i will definitely need a least 20mm spacers for these wheel. Driving at an angle i avoid bottoming out but recently i scraped at the entrance of a bank. Now i have a exhaust leak. Doesn't sound bad. Just louder (the car was too quiet imo) Very stiff sports car ride.Don't do this if your roads are bad. Keep in mind this was a free mod and handles better than before

Seoul replace those cut springs with proper lowering springs ASAP. The cut springs are dangerous and not worth the risk of something bad happening. If you can't afford proper springs, you bought the wrong car.

You can get used springs for cheap. I got all 4 used 350z springs and struts with 90k miles for $160. I seen used G coupe springs for $100 and less on the Facebook page.

They don't 'ride' better. But they do handle better. I went from bad rear squat under hard acceleration to no rear squat and bad nose dive under hard braking to almost no nose dive. The car definitely stops quicker. Also it reduced body roll. It has that on rails feel and turn in is quicker..BUT does it ride better? Ride is subjective. To me it's stiff and rough over broken pavement but I've gotten somewhat use to it. Imo the oem ride was too soft and had to much body roll and sat to high with a lot of finger gap. Cutting was a cheap way of firming up the ride and reducing the wheel to fender gap. The best option would be to buy coilovers. As they allow you to control the dampening/firmness and ride height. Lowering springs don't give you that control.

I bought Manzo lowering springs. They offer a drop similar to 350z springs and price. I bought them hoping it would soften the ride and lower the car a bit more. But it was only slightly less firm and it rose the car to a 3 finger gap about 1/2" higher and 4 finger gap about 1" higher in the rear. It gave it a nasty oem look. I have a shorter tire so I sit lower to eliminate wheel gap. I returned them and went back to the springs I had. I cut an additional 1" off the front springs before putting them back in because my front sat half an inch higher. Now I'm at 1 1/2 finger gap up front and 2 fingers in the rear. My trunk is almost always loaded. So when it's loaded now my car sits level. Before with the trunk loaded I had reverse rake. My clearance is about 3 1/2" from floor to the bottom of the side skirts. But the overall lowest clearance is about 3" inches. The center of the Xs sit lower than the RWDs. And yes I let the Manzos settle for a week before I decided to return. Anyone here know what their clearance is with 350z springs?
