Which aftermarket exhaust will fit 2004 g35x

Hi,

I would like to find out which companies make an exhaust for the 2004 G35x.
I am looking for an exhaust that is about the same noise level as the stock exhaust and doesn't make a drone noise while at a steady speed. if anyone has any ideas or recommendations, let me know. Thanks

Hate to break it to you but the only exhaust that sounds like stock is...stock. But a coupe mid-pipe on your 04 will bolt right up and sound sweet with very little drone. Some peeps also like the 05/06 sedan middy with HR Y-pipe (search s/n DaveB).

Mostly just for sound, I don't think you'd notice a power difference...if there even is any, though I think someone dyno'd it recently and came up with 2-3 hp.

I was searching for midpipes in the vendor classified. I found b2 auto designs have this Ichiba y pipe. Is that the same as the midpipe you mention. Do you think getting this pipe will help with performance using the stock exhaust

i just did one, there's quite a bit of drone and there is NO power difference whatsoever. i find it hard to believe that anyone sees anything like two hp gains from this. it's great to do for the money but a gain? i don't think so.

Yeah, I'm a bit confused too on what you're looking for. Based on your post, are you saying the stock exhaust drones? I don't think there are any aftermarket exhausts that will be close to stock sound.

My stock exhaust doesn't drone but I am looking for an exhaust that's not too loud compare to stock and an exhaust that doesn't drone. My friend has a 2003 g35 automatic sedan with the Stillen gen 2 exhaust. The exhaust sounds great but it drones while cruising the highway. I want to try to keep things as quiet as possible. By the way, i searched borla exhaust. Anybody know if this is a good exhaust or if anybody has this exhaust, how do you like it?

NO one's butt dyno is caliberated to 1-2 hp diffrence. most of cant tell 10hp,its all in the mind.

to the OP having a sedan limits your exhaust options to a had full compared to coupes, having a X sedan gives you even slimmer pickings.

stillen gen 2, custom exhaust, and coupe mid + HKS are like 95% of what X drivers with exhaust own. Recently motordyne with its catback exhaust is out there but not 100% on Y pipe fitments.

If you go w/ the HKS alone (keep stock mid-pipe), your exhaust won't drone on the highway at all. I'm in the Boston area (north of), but have a coupe mid-pipe coupled w/ the HKS. Let me know if you want to hear it in person.
