Need opinions

I have a 05 g35x sedan that has 93k miles I just need a little info on what you guys think. I'm planning on lowering it on tien lowering springs so it should drop it about 1-1.5 inches all around and I'm planning on doing a few more things to it but I just want to know what you guys think, you think it's too high mileage to do anything to it? I hear that these cars last forever but then again some people tell me that it's too high mileage to do anything. I'm planning on keeping this car for a while so I want to do this stuff to make it look better but I'm scared I'm going to break stuff since its "high" mileage. Any input is helpful thank you!

93k is not high mileage. But there are wear/tear items you should look into replacing first before dropping money on lowering it.

93K isn't really high, but lowering the AWD cars tends to put a little more wear on some of the suspension parts. If you lower the car, be prepared to start addressing things like torn bushings and CV axle boots and things like that.

Bu I second the motion of making sure the car is in tip top condition prior to modification. You are coming up on some maintaience things like spark plugs. I'd do fluid changes as well.

I lowered my 06X on Tien sedan S-techs at 190k miles. I like the look of the drop but it's really low where I'll scrape occasionally. Maybe you're looking at H-techs (i forget what the less extreme spring is called) which might be a better choice than the S-techs which were like 2.0/1.5" drop for the sedan if I remember correctly. I also think the skinny 17 inch wheels look goofy when it's dropped. I bought an OEM set of 18x8s that looks better and use the 17s in the winter. The 17s look ok with some 17mm spacers but then you need to roll the rear fenders too.

I replaced a bunch of stuff like struts/shocks and mounts/boots at the same time (and bearings later) hoping I'd resolve some of the NVH in the car and because many recommend changing everything while you have it all apart. Others also mentioned that lowering will accelerate the end of life of original struts. The new stuff didn't help with NVH and didn't really seem to improve the handling much but I don't know how old the shocks were that I took off. If I had to do it over again I'd go with a less extreme drop (maybe H-techs, HR, G/Z) and do just the springs to save money unless something is obviously wrong with the struts and shocks. If you DIY, once you've done this once you'll be good enough to do it again to replace anything that breaks later.

I hope you have impact tools as they'll make the job much easier. I broke a seized shock bolt during disassembly so be careful if you have rusted hardware. There are good DIYs here that will tell you how to do this. I encourage you to do it as you'll learn alot about your car in the process.

Forgot to recommend you put in rear camber adjusters and toe bolts so you don't wear out your rear tires.
