Random Little Question Thread

Yah the chips are more visual than actual chips, just a paint layer. Sanding alone will take that away without bondo. There's a few minor pit-spots that need filling, I'm picky. That's the only reason I'm touching it with bondo again.
If I do CF, it'll be light touches, not ***** crazy.
A-Pillars
Power Seat Switch trim pieces
MAYBE Grab handle trim on doors and thin trim pieces that run horizontal above the vents, currently silver.
Instrument cluster wrapped.
That would very likely be the only places it ever goes. Though I feel like doing the entire Cluster trim will be too much, that's a big piece! I don't know how I could ever do just a section of it though, no way to blend it.
I also just found CF 'sheathing' that can go around lines. Think engine bay, wiring, hoses, wire's 'tucked' with CF sheathing/cover.
Of course, this is all assuming I can do a good job with the CF, I've never done it. A pillars will be the test pilots.

I thought about other vinyls, its a good idea too, just has to be crazy high quality like 3m dinoc our better to work on this.... they have brushed metal vinyl that looks so sick but its not the wicked quality.
Here's the Canadian supplier link for the cf sheathing, going here soon.

Is it practical to reupholster yourself? I have LOTS of time to do it. Is it something that anyone can do with patience?
I could get both seats for under 480, just not in the right colour, I would have to reupholster / pay someone to reupholster
Worth it?

The issue with the recliner is likely the motor or the gear that drives the worm gear. You may be able to swap your motor over, but I have NO clue if they're the same or not.
The issue is NOT likely the switch.
As for reupholstering, if you have to do that you're better off getting a better condition seat, IMO. Cost to reupholster is likely in excess of $400, and will not be OEM quality. Call around though they should be able to give you an estimate, I'm just guessing.

I guess the really big question is do I want racing seats or not.
Pros for coupe seats
- Cheaper, reupholstering cost would still be under what 2 good racing seats w/ all hardware would cost
- air bags
- seat heater
Pros for racing seat
- More buckety
- Lighter, would probably take 100 lbs off
Hmmmm
Oh, and Im not really considering the seat with the broken switch any more
Would reupholstering to black not be better than OEM black? At this point the seats are probably pretty worn, I found 2 more poeple, one is local to me
