Decided to change the PRND bulb

and so since the tiny bulb in there hardly lit up the PRND I decided ill look up a LED replacement, to my amazement they had one that small.

a 3 SMT LED bulb, I am creaming my pants with enjoyment. It was 5 bucks so sniped the ****.

Here is how the old bulb looks like

Your thinking ya that shiz looks weak

Here is the old wimpy bulb and the LED

I plugged it up and man its tons brighter, So with enjoyment I put it inside the shifter and put everything back together and turn the sucker on

Its freaking green! with some lit up more then others

So now you know don't buy a white led bulb unless you want it green.

I'm sorry dude.... but the way you wrote that just mad me LOL!

So, did you check the bulb via 12v without installing it to make sure it was really white and they didn't send you a green one by mistake?

^ Yep lol, Its pure white, Its the plastic, or what ever the letters are printed on that made it look green. I thought for sure the plastic or what not made it look orange lol. I could get Orange cellophane stuff at Michaels. Got to try it, but only if its under 5 bucks for the roll!!.

I would try taking it apart and see if there's a tinted layer you can sand off to make it clear.

^ but then Ill have amberlamps! that cannot be changed if they suck lol.

I got the bulb back in, Ill try the cellophane idea. and give that a try, I can layer it too, so I can get deeper orange or what not to match the rest of the lights.

Your post sounds like mine about my popping door panel (which is starting to come back slightly, GRR!)

I have a 2006, what is the easiest way to remove the shifter assembly to get to the bulb? Is there a writeup anywhere? Thank you!
