Rev problem

Ok so when I press the brake and rev up my engine it will not go past like 2000 rpm. Is anyone having this same issue or is this normal?

Sounds like the car is in limp mode, plug in an OBD2 scanner and see what codes are being thrown.

Ohh so the car drives normally but ONLY goes limp mode when you are holding down the BRAKES and the THROTTLE at the same time?

Sounds like some kind of factory transmission protection to keep fools from smoking the tranny. Other 5AT owners can chime in if this is intended behavior.

yes that right. I mean is it going into limp mode? Is there a way to bypass this? Like flash the ecu or something? Or tune it?

Does it only do this when you are powerbraking like that and does it start driving normally as soon as you release the brakes or is it locked into limp mode until you restart the car?

everything is fine driving it. It’s only when I press the brake and give it gas is when it won’t go over 2000 rpm.

Are you pressing both simultaneously? i have a 5AT and have done that to shoot off the line at a light, but have never attempted to go over 2k before letting go of the brake. I will try next time. In the mean time, try turning off VDC like someone else mentioned

I have done that to and I get the same results. It still will not go over 2k while pressing the brake and gas at the same time. The traction control can be on or off and it still won’t go over 2k. I have replaced the battery also. Since I have had the car it will not do it so I’m kinda stuck here.

If the wheels arent spinning then its probably a good thing its not revving over 2K. Im curious if its a transmission protection thing though. I’ll try it in my car in a few mins and let u know.

But driving around you can go further than 2k rpm? just curious but are you trying to do this to do a burnout?

Also just realized i may not be the best person to assist with testing because i cut my abs fuses
