Considering a G8 GT as a replacement to my totalled G35

Support, crticize or point me to an alternative. BTW I was looking at a GXP for about $28k but it sold in like 3 days.

Crteria. 4 doors, handles, RWD, AWD. Low to mid $20k, less tan 40k miles. And yes, must be auto. Hellen Keller can drive a manual better than my wife.

G8 GT
GXP if wasn't so freaking expensive
M45
M35HR
M56 who are we kidding here?
BMW 335i

It's hard to get the price / miles combo down.

Not a bad car. That's really pricey though. You can get a GTO, which is the same thing with 2 less doors for $5-7k less...

Coupes open up a whole other host of choices. But has to be 4 door.

Not sure on price, but any SRT8 or early CTS-V.

I could also consider a HR G35 or G37 sedan.

Early CTS-V are ugly and manual only. SRT8 300, charger are ones I've considered. 300 is too big and the charger interior is just beyond the cheapness I can handle. Exerior isn't that appealing to me.

E55. Dang. Servive costs on those suckers?

335i, IS350, E46 M3 and G8 were what I looked at seriously. Ended up with my G, never looked back.
The most dissapointing was the G8 gt, Huge V8 and it seemed lazy. By the time you heard the exhaust you were doing 50. Not much fun, the GTO was better.

335i and IS350 were way higher in price and not as good looking (unless you mod the 3 series).

Why not a G35?

I'd want the G37 sedan. Hard to get it down to the price I want to spend.

Are you talking the Grand Prix GXP? I love that car, almost more so than the G8, but I would still lean towards the G8 because it's newer. The GXP was only around for very few model years, and parts could be hard to come by if you ever needed them.

I've always like the styling of G8, it doesn't look like a typical Pontiac in my opinion.

My father had the G8 but only the V6...the gas mileage was similar to the G's. On the other hand, the GXP is a 6.2L engine. I'm sure that thing gulps up gas. If the gas thing doesn't concern you, then the GXP is one bad@zz of a car. They also have the GT, slightly smaller engine than the GXP but I'm sure it gulps gas just as much.

The G8 GT is is a great choice on the stat sheet. I've been interested for a while. 400hp rwd...stock Come On Baby. I found a G8 forum last night, some support there. It's a sorta rare car too, so you're not just another schmuck in a Camery. I found a really nice modded one private seller in Michigan on that forum for only $19500. PM me if you want me to find it again and forward the details.
