Replacement plastic for headlights

I have seen many posts on here about modding headlights, people taking them apart etc. My stock lights are hid on my 03 sedan but have yellowed. They have been cleaned up a few times but just arent the same.

I've seen the ebay lights. Does anyone offer the clear plastic part only so I can change out my yellow ones and keep my stock housings?

Have you sanded them already? I'm sure you can still clean that

I bought a restore kit and just did mine after I bought my new G yesterday. While better than what they were, I'd love them to be even better. I used the RainX kit.

They've been done twice professionally already. Just aren't as clear as they used to be. It would be nice if whoever sold the aftermarket lights, sold the front cover only as a cheaper alternative. Maybe I'll ask them. I think there would be a lot of interest.

If you haven't already tried sanding. You should maintain them by giving them a wax every so often. Although if you opt for a whole new headlight look it will add that much more sex appeal to your car unless you want OEM look around for OEM headlight housing.

Selling just the plastic cover isn't an easy replacement for the average do-it-yourselfer. You'd have to melt the glue in the oven and replace lens hoping it seals properly to avoid fogging them up. Far simpler to just replace the whole lights with brand new OEM units.

Does anyone else have small cracks in there plastic covers? Polishing/sanding won't get rid of those.

3M make the best kit to restore headlights! If you can't find them in stores they're available on line. If you have cracks better look for a new set! Very best option is replacing the first gen headlights with '06 projectors. Cost is high since they no longer make them but it is the best mod for a first gen G35 coupe!

Agreed. Keep your fog lights off everyone unless you need them. They create extra heat which ends up cracking the headlight plastic lenses.

I suggest you wet sand your headlights and finish them with Upol #1 automotive clear coat. It has a UV protection in the clear coat.

ive never heard of the heat from foglights causing the lends to crack. ive only heard of the housing having one or 2 hairline cracks one the 03-04 g35 coupes lights that people have accused the heat from the fogs to cause.
