Driver Seat Side Airbag Problem

Hey all,
I *think* I've narrowed my airbag light blinking problem to the drivers side seat airbag. The diagnostic code is two long and two short, which, if I looked at the code book right is the drivers side seat airbag. So....

1) Is there a way to get this fixed without going to the dealer (i.e. local shop or DIY)?
2) If I can DIY I would prefer it, but where do I purchase the air bag module?
3) Anyone have the part number?

2004 Infiniti G35 Sedan 6MT.

Thanks in advance.

Also does anyone know if the modules are identical for the coupe and sedan? Are they identical from right to left seat as well?

There's a recall for seat airbags, if it hasn't been done for your car you might get it fixed for free at the dealership.

Already had that done and also already replaced the airbag two years ago. Not wanting to give the dealer anymore of my money.

It's unlikely for the airbag to go bad in two years, the real issue could actually be the wiring or the connector, which is the main cause of the recall. Troubleshoot those parts before you decide to buy another airbag.

The recall isn't for actual airbags. It's for the wiring harness under the passenger seat. That's all.

Correct, not the most precise wording I admit. The actual cause of the recall was stated in the following post.

There's an update on the recall to replace the side airbag harness connector, call dealership first to find out if it's been done to your car. if not, try to get them to do it, it should be free since it's related to the recall. I'd try that first.
