Took the car to the dealership and came out with this. Most important things are the fuel sensors, compression rods, and oil leaks. The rest I can live without right now.

Holy **** - those fuel level sensors are insanely expensive!

What's up with the TPMS light?

I traded for some used wheels and tires that didn't have the sensors. Yeah its very expensive at the dealership. The only reason I went there was because I bought a new fuel pump a few months ago and then the car had symptoms of a failing fuel pump and then it wouldn't start at all so I was sick and tired of dealing with that so I just went to the dealer. It'd definitely suggest an independent mechanic.

So I haven't "done" anything yet, but I picked these up yesterday.

$800cad
It came with:
front and rear Calipers
4 slotted rotors (dunno the brand but will need to try to clean them up a bit as there's some grooving)
Front and rear Pads(the rears are shot though)
Brakelines
front and rear mounting bolts

the powder coating is in pretty decent shape, normal wear and tear and only one of the brembo decals is kinda messed up. Just needs a good cleaning.

Nice find! They weren't on Ebay.ca, were they? There was a set there for a while but I don't remember it having rears.

I would probably just pull the trigger and replace pads and rotors. Do it now and you won't have to think about it for another four years.

Also I think the rotors are mis-labeled. I could be wrong.

Here's a guide for mounting directional rotors:

nah, I found these on craigslist. it was perfect timing.

I had just arrived in Kelowna for the weekend and got to the hotel room and decided to type in "G35 Brembo" and this part out listing came up. I had seen it before but noticed the price for the brembos was $800...it had been at $1100 for at least a month. I looked at the posting date and it looked like it was updated that day.

Thanks for the heads up on the directional rotors. I didn't even think of that. When I installed my current rotors I had to do it twice cause I realized it was the wrong way after I had already installed them lol.

Good find. Generally I find BC to have little to no options for G35 part on CG. Lot of people seem to jump on it right away when the opportunity does arise

My fuel reading gauge doesn't work and has never worked properly ever since I bought the car but the dealer tells me this today:

"It looks like the cluster the part on the dash that gives fuel level reading is what caused the fuel sensors to malfunction. It's basically like an electrical triangle the tip being cluster then it sends message to the fuel sensors when we did initial test on cluster it seemed to be ok. Hard to be 100% unless car is running. Now we have good sensors and it shows us that cluster isn't sending good current to the sensors. It will definitely have to have the cluster changed. $1250.00. We may be able to use the old fuel sensors and take those off of your bill but there is no way to be 100% sure until we can get the car running."

So my fuel reading gauge is what caused the fuel sensors to fail? Seems super sketchy. Is this total bullshit?

Supposed to rain most of the week in the Dallas area so all my detailing customers rescheduled and can't ride my bike much either so I drove my G35 to northern Kentucky to visit my kids.

Welcome center in Kentucky:

Lots of rain on and off all the way from Arlington to just south of Cincinnati

Most of the time I was going 75-80 mph and averaged about 25.5 mpg.

Drove back from Kentucky yesterday afternoon through this afternoon (stopped overnight of course), through eastern Arkansas I got in with a group of Corvettes, Camaros and Chargers that were just hauling ***. Kind of kept them in sight, hit about *** at one point. Once we got into some traffic, I backed off and let them go. Still got 24.8 mpg that tank, from Arkadelphia (Arkansas) to Dallas, I got 26.1 mpg which was the best on the trip. Didn't use much oil in 1900 miles, maybe 1/4 quart?

Seats are definitely more comfortable than my Accord, especially for my lower back. No issues in heavy rain although having nearly new tires helps at least as much as the car does.

Finally got rims from powder coat shop and on yesterday. Originally bought them with 3 coats of paint on them. Next is to roll and stretch the fenders slightly and lower it.

Third brake light went out. Did some digging around for cheaper alternatives and bought replacement LEDs from ledmarkers. Saved me alot of money and she's good to go now.
