04 no start issue

Hey guys whats up. I recently purchased an 04 sedan RWD from my cousin in real nice condition. He said it ran when he parked it. Car sat for about a year without moving. I replaced battery and get all the lights, bells and whistles, but when i turn the key, i get nothing in the engine bay. I removed the starter and had it tested, tested good. All fuses are good and not blown. I swapped the starter relay with a handfull from the j-yard with also no luck. Has anyone had this problem before? Can it be the factory alarm? Anyone have any direction to point me towards? I really like this car. Thanks!

Anything changed on the vehicle before it sat, as in engine components, etc? Everything runs before being parked. What makes the difference is what happened after being parked. You mention that it all turns on. My question is why was it parked to begin with. I don't know too many people who would just park a good G for a year without it having some issue beforehand. I would talk to the cousin and see what the issue was. May be something that he doesn't want to mention.

BTW, does the dash display a P for the transmission position?

Also / does it try and start? Or no noise from the starter at all. Does it try and catch? Videos usually help.

Hey thanks for the help. I spoke to him and he said he parked it for a trans issue. Said it was slow in first 2 gears, then drove normal. The only components he had previously changed was battery and starter. and wake i do not have a P on the dash, I do for just a moment when the key is in the on position, then goes away and stays blank.

I get nothing from the starter. I removed the starter and bench tested it at O'reilys, and it tested good. But when on car it does nothing, does not extend, does not spin. nada. Ill try and post a video asap.

Since it is possibly transmission related, given what you mentioned, you should check out the link at the bottom which is someone else having an issue of no start from the coupe side of the forum. I put a link to the FSM, which may help determine if the issue is the transmission PNP switch or not...
