Does anyone know how to reprogram the key fob to quiet the horn when locking the car. I found it anoyingly loud.

Did you read the manual? Check out section 3 on reprogramming the keyless remote...

 

In the mean time just hit the door lock on the key fob with the door open ... the horn will not go off. When I get home late that is what I do to keep from annoying my neighbors or waking the family.

Most of the time I like the fact that when I am walking away I can hit the lock on the remote and know by the horn blast that the doors are locked. I will not be reprogramming mine.

 

I'm with you on that one, I want to know that the G is locked up. The horn lets me know without looking that its cool for me to go on with my day.

 

I found it.

All you have to do is to hold both lock and unlock button down for about 3 seconds while away from the car.

 

Doesn't anyone find the actual key and key fob REALLY cheap. I think the key fob is actually used in all Nissan cars. Why can't they give us something like a VW/Audi type key. I know it's petty complaints but I would expect a better looking key and key fob from a high luxury class dealer.

true dat, rumble. even the key fob for the rsx is pretty nice. when i purchased this car, i was expecting an integrated key/key fob, but got what we got. even my toyota key and key fob were better. they offer a nice "luxury" key for the Q45 and M45. Why not something nice for the G?

It is the same FOB as my friend's Altima. Man, that is really cheap and unoriginal. Love the car though.

I was also very disappointed by the key fob. Infiniti can certainly do better.

 

The key makes up for the fob. The fob didn't bother me til you mentioned it's the same as the Altima's! A "chirp" like our MDX's would sure beat that loud horn. I'm going with the suggestion above to hit the button before closing the door. There are many times when I like an audible confirmation...

I forgot about the easiest way to lock the doors without the horn is to hit the unlock botton on the key fob. It locks all the doors after 5-10 seconds.
