unstable idle and 'service engine soon' light on
just got my 2003.5 sedan yesterday, when I got out off my car in my garage, I smelled some kind of burning rubber smell, not the leather interior smell inside. Last night I drove it out, the 'service engine soon' warnning
green light came on, my odomter only has only 100 miles, manual says it has something to do emission control system. worse yet, when I started engine this morning, the engine vibrates and noise a lot during warming up,
I can feel the car vibrates at 1200 rpm during warmup. on the road at traffic light, the idle at 500 rpm and
engine does not feel stable.
I have been driving many Japaniese cars, none of them has unstable and noisier idle speed like my new G35.
did anybody has or know these problems? please someone calm me down? should I give it more time before checking with dealer's sevice?

I wouldn't wait to take it in...maybe don't even make an appointment just take it in and ask someone to take a look at it. If there is a problem the longer you drive with it the worse you will make it and even though it is under warrenty the worse it is the longer it will take to fix.

Burning smell is pretty normal for a brand new car you just drove home. "Check Engine" light isn't. Did you check to make sure the gas cap was tightened? Newer cars these days seem to be picky about that.
Keep us posted about what they find if you take it in.

Sounds like someone forgot to hook up your CADDiDle when they PDI'd your car..........Seriously tho, 'Phone them now. If It's too dangerous to drive have them come and get it!!!!!!!!!!!!
We'd all be interested to know how you do. Good luck

As already suggested above, tighten your gas cap first (at least three clicks according to my dealer, too). My "check engine" light also came on recently and this was the fix. However, even with the light on my car drove fine so you might just have an emissions problem.
