Wow, i never resetted my digital MPG reader since I got the car. A few days ago I did, now its showing 14.1 after a 20 minute freeway drive. It was at 9-10 mpg for the past few days. Now I hope to get back to 16.9 at least. Damn that G35 S is super thirsty.

I reset mine just as I got on the Interstate the other night, when I got off onto a city street, it was reading 22mpg. If you're in a cold area, don't expect optimal mileage, even my '05 would drop down to about 16-17 sometimes this time of year, but ran a steady 19-20 the rest of the time once it was broken in well.

Actually 900 miles now, but yeah.

However I haven't been off Long Island yet. I will see at least 3,600 before the end of January.

I average around 14.5MPG since I've gotten the car. 90%+ of my driving is city, however (odd considering I live in LA, but true).

My G just had its first "birthday" a couple of weeks ago and it has about 10600 miles on it. The mileage started out around 19+ for the first few months, but has been a solid 22+ ever since.

I only drive about 22 miles (roundtrip) to and from work. Mostly country roads with one 3 to 4 mile blast on a divided highway. I would guess my highway average mph to be 75+.

Having owned many V8 Mustangs, one habit I have continued to do with the G (when I'm not "messing around") is skipping gears on the way up to 6th (especially 3rd to 6th). I'm sure this contributes to the decent mileage I'm getting.

Took our first long road trip in the 07S this week. Drove 1300 miles, mostly interstate at 70-75. Used 89 and 91 Octane gas. Have 6000+ miles on car and got 22.8 mpg R/T. Was at 23 on just highway, but some town driving knocked the average down. As someone mentioned, Infiniti is not interested in gas mileage. If the car just had a 6 speed auto like our 07 vette does. It gets 30 to 31 mpg on road trips. And it has a lot of performance!
added: At 70 mph, engine is only turning about 1500 rpm. That is reason for such good gas mileage. 6th gear makes the difference! But if you want acceleration, you can drop down in gears real quick with 400 hp. G35 just stays in the upper end of torque curve for the performance feel, but a cost of gas mileage. I would think all manuf. are going to have to look at overdrive for the new laws on corp. gas mileage coming. Both cars are fun to drive!!!

31 mpg in a Vette? That's hard to believe, especially since the epa rating at Chevy's website says 16/26, I do know the epa changed their method this year, but still................

i drive mainly in the city and i average 19.4 and this is after i left my car running for 6 hrs!! i rip it up about once a week where i get 12mpg, but most of the time i get 20+

if you're speaking of the MPG reading in between the speedo and the tach, that's mpg from the first day the car was running.

i don't think it's hard to believe that a '07 vette gets 30-31 mpg, i'm sure at about 70-80 mph in a vette you're rpm reading is 1800-2000 rpms...in our g35's it's close to 3000 or over 3000 rpm. makes perfect sense. my brother's '03 z06 gets 28 on the highway if he doesn't floor it

Yes, but that can be reset, I reset mine when I fill up.

I average 23MPG but if I get more aggressive it never goes below 20MPG. Of course "aggressive" driving is all subjective anyway. I suppose if I floored every time from a stop I could get my car down in to mid-teens. I am not saying those with teen mileage numbers are doing that...but that seems to be the only way I could get my car down there. My driving is about 80% freeway so that certainly contributes to my mileage experience. The best I ever get is a little over 25 MPG on flat cruise control runs.

Keep in mind that the computer is still taking MPG readings when you're stopped. I noticed this when looking at my dash during my every day drive :/
