Wheel Spacers on '07+ G35 Sedan

I was just curious is any of you have put wheel spacers on your G35 Sedan. If so, what size did you go with? I was looking at the Ichiba Version II spacers and thinking of using the 15mm ones in the front and 20mm in the rear, but wasn't sure if the 20mm would be too much. Let me know your thoughts.

Well, I just ordered some 20mm wheels spacers for my G. Decided to go with 20mm at all 4 corners after seeing another car with 25mm spacers all around. I will let everyone know once I get them installed and will post some pics as well.

Thats quite a bit since your stock wheels are 45mm offset. That will bring them down to 25mm offset. I think I would have stayed with the 15mm spacer to give you 30mm offset for your sedan.

Yeah, you are correct, but you have to remember that the stock wheels are only 8.5" wide and the offset is measured from the center-line of the wheel... So, you will need about 12 - 13mm less offset for a 8.5" wheel to sit as far out as a 9.5" wheel (1" = 25.4mm / 2 = 12.7 mm). So, the 20mm wheel spacers should bring the outside of my 8.5" wheels very close to where a 9.5" wheel with 40mm offset would be. This is all theoretical of course, and I wont know for sure until I get them on.

Thanks. I'll be sure to posts some pics sometime after the holiday. I should have the tint done by then, as well.

Wow.. already received my 20mm wheel spacers. Got them the day after I ordered them... now that's service! Here are some pics of the spacers uninstalled and some first impressions.

The spacers are very nicely made and already have the studs pressed in and also include the required lugnuts to mount them. The are hubcentric design (although, I have not confirmed this on the wheel yet) and that is important. They are also lightweight (only 14 oz each including lugs) and should be fairly corossion resistant, since they are made of an aircraft grade Aluminum / Magnesium alloy.

The only issues I have with these is how they were packaged. They packaged them so they were face to face with no protecton beween them... this cased the lugnuts of one spacer to bang against the spacer that it was face-to-face with and caused some minor nicks nd scratces on them. Functionally this won't causeany problems, but I am picky and like everthing to be perfect.

I will post more pics once I have thm installed on the car. Unfortunately the car is at the tint shop today getting the windows tinted, so I won't have it back until tonight.

Yes, I cant wait. The stock S wheels def need some pushing out. I was always wanting to do the rear only but depending on how the front look may change my mind and do f & r.

There are some pics of a G with 25mm spacers (front & rear) on it floating around this site somewhere and it looked really good. I was originally going to go with 20mm in the rear and 15mm up front, until I saw those pics... I decided on the 20mm all around, because I didn't want them to stick out too much. We'll see how this works. Worse case is I could sell you a set of my 20mm for your rears and we can both buy 15mm for the fronts.

the other thing with 20mm is,
there should be less of an issue with the OE studs getting in the way.

post em up when you can
some nice shots along the body line would be great.

Ok guys... New window tint and wheel spacers are on. I will post some before and after pics here soon. I also plan to post some pics of the wheel spacer install. It's pretty straight forward and very easy... It only took about 1 hour and a good 10 minutes of that was getting the car up on jackstands.

15mm spacers are way too small for the front. If anything, the fronts are tucked in more than the rear. While the front offset is +45, remember that the front rim is also only 7.5" wide. Therefore, even with +20mm spacers, the front would be equivalent to having an 8.5" rim with a +44 offset.

Here's my car with 8.5" M45 rims (+50 offset stock) with +20mm spacers at all 4 corners (making it an 8.5 +30 offset rim). Notice how the fronts still look tucked in even with +20mm spacers? Your stock 18x7.5 front rim with +20mm spacers will look tucked in even further by 14mm. Hence, +25 spacers would easily fit front and rear.

Now, if you're not lowering the car, then +20mm should look good at all 4 corners b/c w/o the additional negative camber, the wheel wells will fill out pretty nicely.:
