Not sure why you'd be so hesitant to buy a used G, in the bigger cities there should be a decent selection and it's got a pretty solid warranty. We bought our first G (an 07) in Sept. of 07 w/ 6k miles (it was a corporate lease return), we had it checked out thoroughly and put an additional 30k trouble free miles. We sold it to a friend and unfortunately bought an 02 BMW 745Li w/out warranty (dumbest auto-related thing I've ever done), dumped it and just got a new 09 G37. The friend has since put another 8 k miles on that 07 G and is very happy w/ the vehicle. I would have got another used G w/out any reservations (assuming it had low miles and was very clean) but my wife saw the brand new black on black sedan and just had to have it Just be very selective when shopping used and w/ these warranties and Inifinti reliabilty you'll be fine & save a bunch of money.

If I got an 07 I believe they had the old shape so that wouldn't work for me either.
I'm going to likely get an 09 this week and then beat myself up for it in 2 weeks when the 10s arrive and the 09s are reduced even further.

Not sure what 08's you are looking at...they seem to be going for anywhere from 27-35k. New 09's go from 33-40? Obviously, you have to compare apples to apples as far as equipment goes. Might be going out on a limb here, but you will save more than just 1G if you buy an 08 versus a similarly equipped 09.
The 2007 is the new body style, and this is an even better way to save a few more grand.
Why dont you just wait a couple weeks, why do something now?

Don't listen to newg37. His numbers are all over the place. I don't know what he's thinking.

cars aren't investment (at least not these types of cars), so who the F cares about resale. If you take good care of the car, then you will be able to get a fair price for it when you sell it. It's that simple. Your spending way too much time contemplating and you wasting valuable time behind the wheel.
FYI.. For the price savings, go with the '09. It looks WAY better IMO and since you are almost one model year behind it will always be a "low mileage car" unless of course you put a ton of miles on per year.

newg37: My 2007 G35X lease expires in July 2010. I inquired about buying my car for another family member now. My g has only 22k on the clock. I would then lease a new 2010. Man, when the dealer gave me the number on the lease : $540/mo. I said I would postpone my decision. I pay $440/mo now with a purchase option. One thing though, they could care less about giving a break on the purchase. I would seriously be interested if like CPO cars advertised , they throw in the long -term Warranty.

Just as a data point - I just bought a new 2009 with Journey pkg and sunroof and no other options for $29K, which was $6500 under MSRP. My vote is go buy a left-over for a smokin' deal before they are all gone!!
The local San Jose, CA area dealers had more than 20 a few days ago, although I am sure those are moving out at these prices. Both dealers had some used 08's listed for more than I paid for a new 09 - granted, they may have had a few more options, but my car had 25 miles on it when I drove it off!!

Thanks, I bought a New G37 on Tuesday.
I got it for $29,000+++
on Wednesday another rep offered me for $28,635+++ this was on the 31st.. gah.. well, I know I got a good deal and it was the last base model in black/stone.
Maybe on the 5th the incentives would increase.. but I didn't want to risk it the incentives might go lower or my base model would sell out then I would have to pay $2500 more for prem package which is basically a bunch of connectivity junk I do not care about.. I don't have bluetooth.. I dont' even have an ipod nor do I care about any of that stuff.
I dunno why infiniti is supposedly doing worse than other luxury models. My dealership sold 5 cars in the 4 hours I was there
white g37 coupe
blue g37 convertible coupe
red g37 sedan
white ex35
my black g37
so there is a slight chance my car would have sold out before the 5th.
overall it's an amazing car.. one thing... the steering is really easy. I expected more of a sports car power steering less of a towncar power steering..
Also there is a flutter in the engine when the car comes to a complete stop. Maybe 1/5th of a second. But I can feel it slightly. Maybe it will go away it only has 8 original miles (30 miles now =D)
it's not as fast as I thought it would be but i haven't had a chance to really accelerate past 3,000rpms not a good idea to go fast before i break in the first 1000 miles. It feels like a heavy car, handles like one too. But i come from two previous small(er) cars
Any tips for breaking in the car properly?

a used 09 with like 15,000 miles costs more than a new one.. but there is no incentives on used cars.. only new ones.
I think in another month if there are any left over with prem/sports pck they will be selling for $31-$32,000 ($8000 off msrp)
looks like $29,000+++ is the sweet spot for a lot of dealers. I went to my dealers sister dealership and the guy tried to get me to pay $31,000 for a white car.. lowest he did was $30,000+++ saying "the current economic climate doesn't mandate these prices".. lolol
I felt good responding to him via email today when he asked "are you still interested"
"sorry, I bought one from your sister dealership.. $29,000... thanks!"
