Dropped the car off at the dealer today, they're ordering a new cluster under warranty. Won't have the car until Monday or Tuesday as they have to reprogram the mileage from the old cluster onto the new one.

Have a POS G25 as a loaner. One plus is the heated seats , motor is asthmatic and weak, suspension is horrible. It's going to be a long 3 or 4 days.

Wow! Three to four days! They replaced mine in one day! I didn't drop my car off until the part came in. Good luck and have fun with the loaner!

Ya, I don't know why they didn't order the part first, then schedule me when it arrived.

It's taking longer too since it's a weekend, and shipping will take longer. No matter I guess, the car will be in manual and DS the entire time (it only has 39 miles on it lol).

Any other reports of this? Mine has started flickering lately too. I'm wondering if anyone has figured out a DIY fix that involves replacing the individual LED rather than the whole cluster. Even at my "wholesale cost" through the dealer is $406.07 plus $24 to set the mileage in it.

^^ I'm sure there are vendors who will replace the LED for you as a repair service. Desoldering and replacing an LED ain't no thang for a regular electronics tech. If you DIY the panel you can probably save a substantial amount too. Another possibility is replacing the cluster with a used one from a wrecker.

I wouldn't really have a problem doing it myself either if I could just find out more info about the LEDs or a repair guide. I dont want to have to take it apart multiple times to order parts and then wait for them to come in. I could easily find the step-by-step for removing the cluster through the ALLDATA repair guides here at the shop I work at.

I have the same problem but around the 4k mark. Sometimes it flickers, sometimes its on... but off most of the time lol. I don't really care for it anymore, I can still see the dim area and doesn't annoy me all that much. What annoys me are the damn clock LEDs. All 3?(I opened it up a while back and I think I saw 3) LEDs are dead. I always thought the analog clock was the best feature in the center console...

I have the same EXACT problem as the original poster. I had a major accident where I was rear ended and also the front of my car got pushed into another vehicle. After the repairs, at some point, I thought I noticed a flicker. But since the tachometer is on the periphery of my vision, I didn't 'pay attention to it until it became noticable a month later. Then the LED would go on and off in that 5 to 7 area. Now, it is pretty much dead half the time.

Do you think the vehicle collision impact had something to do with it?
I am going to find out how much it will cost to fix it.

My friend and I have the exact same problem (Both 08 G35 sedans). 5-7K LED either is on, off or flickering. We've actually had this issue for over a year now but I haven't driven the car much the past year so I wasn't too concerned. Has anyone found a solution to this? Is the LED even replaceable?

In theory you can replace the surface mount leds by desoldering and resoldering. In practice, and umder warranty (like mine a few weeks ago,) the dealership will replace the whole gauge cluster.

If you're out of warranty, best bet is to order the cluster from one of the many parts sites for around $300, precoded to your mileage, and diy the lengthy but easy install.

Wow i have never seen that before. My clock light half of it is dark and i was flickering for quite awhile but i have no other problems with any of the buttons on the Center Console so I'm waiting for something else to push me for replacement.

Yeah that's a nightmare to replace yourself since it's a complete dash removal. Also, a G25 LOL, everytime I see one of those on the road I think of it as a retarded younger brother of the G35
