No More Beeps?

Does anyone know why the "beeps" when pressing the door handle lock/unlock botton would stop? Trunk botton also stopped beeping.

Not sure its a big deal, but I would like to know what changed. I went into the Diag mode to change the Bluetooth phone mic level, but have went back through it and there was no beeping option I could have mis-selected.

Any thoughts?

If you still use the remote to lock/unlock does the horn sound? I'm wondering if you put it into its silent mode.

It sounds like your in "Hazard Indicator Mode" and no longer in "Hazard Indicator and Horn Mode"
The difference is one offers hazard light flashes, along with horn beeps and chimes, while the other just flashes the hazard lights.

From the manual...

Setting hazard indicator and horn mode

This vehicle is set in hazard indicator and horn mode when you first receive the vehicle.
In hazard indicator and horn mode, when the LOCK button q1 is pushed, the
hazard indicator flashes twice and the horn chirps once. When the UNLOCK
button q2 is pushed, the hazard indicator flashes once.
If horns are not necessary, the system can be switched to the hazard indicator mode.
In hazard indicator mode, when the LOCK button is pushed, the hazard indicator flashes twice. When the UNLOCK button is pushed, neither the hazard indicator nor the horn operates.

Hope that helps.

Beeps are back. Thanks for the help. The fix was holding the Lock/Unlock bottons on the remote until the horn beeped. You guys are great...

The Diag mode is accessed by:
While accessory mode, and radio off, hold down the "settings" botton while turning the volume **** either direction a few times.

Thanks again.

Just hold lock and unlock at the same time on your keyfob until your car responds with the hazards.

You guys actually use your fob? Mine stays in my pocket so much, I'm always surprised when I get in our Sequoia and it needs a key (a "key" - what's that about?? )

Actually I hardly ever do use it. But on occasion I will like when i am walking away and am too far away, and don't remember if i locked it or not, so I dont want to walk all the way back, so i use the fob. I agree though, when I drive my ML350 i hate using the key, I have a new X5, that has comfort access, but its def not as good as the infiniti's, you have to hold the door handle, and sometimes its real weird, and you have to like touch the right part of the handle and crap, its kinda annoying.

How did you make your trunk button (on the trunk lid, not the fob) not beep? The first thing I did when I took delivery was to remove the horn sounds AND the beeps. The only thing that happens when I press the button on the door handle is the flashing lights. No sound. Just the way I like it. The trunk, however, still beeps 3 times (safety reasons?).

My beeps that used to happen when using door handle request switch just stopped beeping. I think it was 2 beeps when locking and one beep when unlocking. I tried pressing remote lock and unlock button simultaneously for more than 2 seconds and it will not change from silent mode to beep mode. I have done this before so I know how to do it. It seems neither of my remotes will change alert system from silent to beep mode for some reason. Anyone experience this? have any advice? Thanks!
