Peeling interior trim

Bought my first G35(08 sedan) yesterday and I've been reading online that it's a common issue. Inner door trim and steering wheel trim are peeling, is it easier to just order somewhere or take apart and do it yourself? Just seeing what everyone else's experience has been, thanks. -Jordan

I took everything off, sand it down and color matched it to my car. You can see the results on my car domain. Just search for bluedevils95.

I think he means the perforated fabric.

But, yeah just get some 3m auto adhesive, and a putty knife and start gluing and tucking.

Maybe I phrased it wrong. Bluedevils answer sounded like what I was looking for. It's the hard piece around the window and door locks and around the buttons on the steering wheel. Looks like a thick black paint that's chipping off, silver underneath. Thanks guys! Sorry for being a noob :P

Did you see the pix? Did you like them? If so, start using 380 grit sand paper

I looked at your profile but didn't see them. Can you give me the link?

This is on my to-do list as well, so check out these guides I bookmarked. They will help with the removal of the trim pieces:

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...bezel-v36.html
https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-diy...l-removal.html

You can buy replacement trim pieces off ebay or you can just paint it yourself

I got my steering wheel trim from Circle Infiniti via eBay I think. (there are 2 different ones, one for adaptive cruise control and one without). And I got the door trim/pull handle from Infiniti of Gwinnett - very easy to replace, ice pick works well to pry up the old one. Haven't replaced the wheel trim yet, but you do have to take the wheel off to do it.

I also bought a 08 recently with the same problems. I called Infiniti customer service to see if they would fix it or offer some partial reimbursement. They laughed at my face.
