Interior Bulbs

Hey guys,

Just bought an '07 G35 and can't figure out what kind of bulb goes into the map lights. Everywhere I look (SuperBrightLED, Sylvania, GE) suggests the incorrect bulb for my interior lights. They all say I need a two-ended bulb, while what I have is a single-ended bulb.

Have you guys run into this?

By the way, the bulb guide in the FAQ above also lists the incorrect bulb.

If it helps at all my 03 sedan uses the double ended lights for the map.

Thanks Andy!

So apparently in '07, Infiniti changed their bulbs from the "festoon" type double-ended bulbs to the "wedge" type single-ended bulbs – and, amazingly, they kept it a very well guarded secret because everywhere I've looked (including the FAQ on this site) lists the incorrect bulb type.

I want to convert to LED bulbs, so I'm thinking about converting the wedge base to a festoon base. The festoon base bulbs are a whole lot brighter.

I just used a pair of 194 wedge bulbs and called it a day. Cost me $1.20 for both!

Interesting. Let me know how these work out and if they're brighter than the original. I might try these.

Thanks for sharing!

Save yourself $10 and get something like this:

Amazon.com: Jtech 10x 194 168 2825 T10 5-SMD White LED Car Lights Bulb: Automotive Amazon.com: Jtech 10x 194 168 2825 T10 5-SMD White LED Car Lights Bulb: Automotive

That's what I used. It's a bit brighter than the oem lights but looks waaay better with the white color rather than the oem yellow.

Go to diode dynamics for your bulbs.they are a sponser on here. They have every bulb you will need! I switched my map lights to red. Also got my hid lights from them. Fast shipping and great prices too!

Thanks for the update! And thanks, everyone, for the tips. I ordered the ebay ones from the link.

I initially retrofitted the double-ended bulbs I bought from superbrightleds.com (the incorrect double-ended ones) and they were great – just WAAAAY too bright. They work beautifully in my Pathfinder but the small interior of the G35 lights up like the surface of the sun at night when I open the doors.

Looking forward to getting the plug-and-play bulbs.
