G35 ride height

Are all G35 suspensions the same height? The '07 I just bought looks more like this:

while most others I've seen look like this:

I'm wondering if mine has been lowered. The dealer and the service tech swear it's the stock suspension but can't explain the difference in ride height.

I love it and love the way it rides – I'm just curious.

Yours is definitely lowered. No car company would sell a car like that other than a Porsche or something else with a highly tuned suspension. Unless your springs are shot.

Maybe this is a better comparison (stole this from someone else's post). Look at the difference in the space between the tire and the arch. The top one looks lowered and the bottom one looks Jeepified.

Neither of those are lowered, but those are two different years, and ones a coupe and ones a sedan. 2 different cars.

The coupe usually looks sleeker and is probably a lower ride height anyways. So if you have a coupe then that's normal.

The pics don't help unless they're pics of your car.

Just get out the measuring tape and measure from the ground to the top of your wheel well and post the results.

That way the rest of us can measure our cars and tell you what's up.

Yes, pics are needed. Also, take a peek to see if your springs are a color other than black.

The G35x (AWD) sits higher than the regular RWD. The 2nd pic in your 1st post may be an X. The 1st pic is a G35S and from the many stock ones I've seen, they appear to have the same height as the RWD G35, just have bigger wheels although the tires are virtually the same outside diameter. Another possibility is maybe they have too large of a tire on yours so it fills in the gap more.

Ah, makes sense about the X sedans being higher.

My ride height is about 27.5" front and back from the bottom-center of the wheel well arch to the street. Anyone else?

Thanks for the responses!

The X's are a little higher.

You can check the FSM for factory ride height.

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G35/Seda..._Sedan/fsu.pdf

It looks like stock height in the front for models with 18" wheels was 28.19 inches

27.83 in the rear.

Chalk up the difference to settling and inexact measurements. I would guess that you are not lowered.

Great find... thanks! Sounds about right to me, too.

Yours is clearly lowered. The stock ride height is extremely high compared to a lowered G in my opinion. After I lowered my G, I immediately noticed a difference. I will add that the AWD versions do sit way higher that the RWD but judging from the pictures you posted, and all things being the same, yours is lower.

I don't know, it doesn't look lowered to me. I have a Xs and before I lowered it, I could fit 4 fingers inside the wheel gap. It was horrible. Now its much better with the Eibachs at 1 finger in rear and a little less than 2 in the front.
