Outside Temperature

Today, it was around 80 degrees outside, by my "Outside Temp" indicator on the dash cluster said 60 degrees. I have never had this problem before, so trying to identify what might be causing this discrepancy. I drove the car twice today for around 15 minutes each trip, and the temperature was low by 15-20 degrees both times. Hope this is not the start of larger electrical problems. Let me know if you have ever heard of this problem or where I might start to troubleshoot this.

Car is a 2008 G35x with around 72K miles. No mods.

That is a useless feature now. We all have smart phones that can do that job. If mine goes out i wouldn't care anymore. If anything i would like to pull mine off the car?

The temperature sensor is behind the grill in front of the radiator. It may have gone bad.
