Fixed the problem myself, hardest part was getting the G on the ramps.
There is a rod that connects from the shift assembly to the transition, there is a bolt on the AWD that slides so i moved it back toward the rear of the car and now it fully locks in place and it even feels better even when switching over to DS mode. Saved myself $600+

I encounter same problem today... I didn't have to buy another assembly, there's a rod looking (zinc plated) that moves along with the shifter itself, on the park position that rod should move up along with the white plastic, but the rod was not lining up with the grove which prevented the white plastic to move up as well. The rod was actually bent, I bent my accidentally when I bought some copper material on a tubing package that was too long for the trunk... so I put it through the back seat and protect my leather with my sweater... but when i applied the brake.. the tubing package slid and hit the shifter. It didn't seem hard at impact, but enough to bend that rod. I could see the dealer mention that it could be abusive if you actually hit the shifter hard or push it hard and hit the "R" stopper.
