Idle Hesitatation no Service Engine Light
#3
I just got done speaking with a service advisor. There is a recent software update announced that fixes Hesitation in regards to ac cycling on and off. Now being I'm out of warranty, it cost $149 for the update which I feel being loyal Infiniti customers we should be given freely. I might wait til my appointment to talk to the service manager.

What's funny I just got in touch with the operations manager at the nearest infiniti to me and their willing to pay for the software update. If the condition continues they will diagnose for no cost if I get it repaired there.

So since having the car the idle has cleaned up a lot since the reprogramming. Still hestitating every few seconds then stops. I poured sea foam thinking it might be injector or bad gas but still rough idle. No service engine light. The next thing I could think of checking is vac lines. Good spark plugs, cleaned throttle body, no engine light for egr valve. Anything I'm not thinking of?

I do not know them to be unreliable on these cars, so I doubt it's a factor here, but just so it's been mentioned, a bad coil unit can cause that as well, although it would normally exhibit symptoms elsewhere too.

I guess theoretically it could. These cars have DBW throttle, and plenty of "smart" controllers that "learn", so it's certainly worth a shot. I seem to recall quite a few folks who've done the idle relearn had reported things improving after a few days. Hopefully they aren't just feeding you a load of BS to get you out of their hair since they couldn't find it straight away though. Of course, a bad batch of gas will take a while to get out of the system as well, so what have you got to lose?
